ABOUT:
Mike Daniels is a versatile musician, trumpet player and conductor who revels in producing interesting things for people to hear, equally at home with a trumpet in hand or a choir or big band in front of him. Matt Finch is a composer, innovative choir leader and one of Bath’s musical gems whose thirst for the next project knows no bounds. Together they create a synergy and inherent feeling of fun bringing a performances full of variety. Their eclectic programme includes music for trumpet and piano (and organ) from the Baroque through to the present day including improvisations on hymn tunes for Ascension and Londonderry Air. Contemporary pieces include Eric Ewazen’s evocative Prayer and Praise transporting the listener to the vast prairies of North America and a sophisticated jazz standard or two. Matt and Mike met at college and have been making music in Bath and the area for over 30 years in the Wiltshire Music Centre, the Theatre Royal, with GBH Big Band and with their respective choirs, Cantamus Chamber Choir and Horizons of Bath.
